Halsey In Awe After Listening To 'Folklore': 'I'd Die For Taylor Swift'
Halsey just voiced our collective inner thoughts over Taylor Swift’s surprise album Folklore, dropped at midnight on July 24.
The Bad At Love singer shared on her Twitter page she was going to have a listening party with her “girlfriends” and a bottle of rosé, which is probably one of the best ways to celebrate Swift’s eighth studio album.
Halsey Had A Taylor Swift Listen Party
Halsey had a little road trip into the night to meet her friends, whom she referred to as “girlfriends”. A fan was quick to point out “girlfriends” is a term used by straight women to refer to their female friends, teasing the singer, who’s openly bisexual and has discussed her attraction to men and women in her songs.
The artist, who released her latest album Manic in January 2020, reassured her fandom.
“Not straight, just old I guess,” she wrote.
'Folklore' Is Taylor Swift's Eighth Studio Album
Swift announced Folklore on social media a few hours before its release. Compared to Swift’s previous 2019 album Lover, Folklore is a more intimate journey through heartbreak and healing spanning across 16 tracks. The new record also includes a powerful collaboration with Bon Iver, ballad Exile.
The album features a black and white cover and a minimalistic font and was released alongside the video for the first single, Cardigan, written and directed by Swift. She worked with director Martin Scorsese, as well as Ang Lee, and Alejandro González Iñárritu’s frequent collaborator, cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto.
Halsey Says She'd Die For Taylor Swift

Halsey hasn’t disclosed details on which is her favorite new Taylor’s track yet, but she most definitely seemed to have enjoyed Folklore.
The singer, who has been friends with Swift for years, wrote she “would die for Taylor Swift” in a tweet posted today (July 24). Her fans seemed to appreciate the hyperbolic statement, judging by the plethora of Taylor Swift GIFs they used to react to the tweet.
Halsey recently made headlines for defending Kanye West after he got mocked over his bipolar diagnosis. The 25-year-old singer has always been vocal about living with bipolar disorder and offered her take on how dangerous is to associate questionable behavior and bipolar disorder after some took a dig at West for his presidential campaign.
The singer also has a poetry collection out later this year titled I Would Leave Me If I Could. Halsey wrote a series of poems where she addresses her bipolar disorder as well as growing up as a member of the LGBTQ+ community and a biracial woman in the US.
