A source at the restaurant also shared with People that they were having a fantastic time, laughing together and enjoying each other's company. The source went as far as describing what they had eaten at the dinner.

In a conversation with Us Weekly in 2019, Brandon Lee denied the rumors that he and Newton were dating and clarified they were simply good friends. He explained that they both led hectic lives which made it difficult to spend much time together. He also mentioned that they were simply friends that get to see each other now and then.
